New Haven Family Alliance Temporary Webpage

The mission of the New Haven Family Alliance (NHFA) is to strengthen fragile families and to improve the quality of life for children in the greater New Haven area. Established 19 years ago as a child welfare reform agency, the NHFA employs multiple approaches to reach its goal of improving children’s developmental outcomes. This is accomplished by helping families become financially self-reliant, promoting their physical, emotional, social and spiritual well being, and increasing their capacity to guide and nurture their children. The process of coalition building and systems change to support healthy families is pat of the core agency mission. The NHFA holistic intervention model has proved highly effective in meeting the needs of very low income urban children by connecting parents to their children and reconnecting parents and families to their communities.
